USB Flash Drive Voice Recorder: FD50, 64GB, 25-Day Battery, Plug-and-Play
A recorder built into a form factor you already carry
Purpose-built digital voice recorders have screens, buttons, and form factors that identify them clearly as recording equipment. The FD50 takes the opposite approach: it is a 64GB USB flash drive with a full-featured voice recorder built in. It stores documents alongside audio recordings, appears as a removable drive on any Mac or Windows computer, and occupies a space in a pocket or bag where a USB drive already belongs. The recording capability is embedded in an object category that people carry without it drawing attention.
How the FD50 records
The FD50 records in two modes. In voice activation mode, it runs 25 days on a single charge: the device listens for sound above a set threshold and records only when triggered, pausing during silence. In continuous mode, it records for 32 hours straight regardless of ambient sound. Five sensitivity levels let you calibrate voice activation for the recording environment, from a quiet office where even low speech should trigger recording to a louder space where only normal conversation volume should activate it. Automatic level control adjusts the microphone input based on the proximity of speakers, keeping audio consistent across varying distances without manual intervention.
The 64GB of internal storage holds 2,304 hours of audio. At the default recording quality, that is over 96 consecutive days of uninterrupted recording on a single device before storage fills. The FD50 operates without indicator lights or audible signals during a recording session.

Frequently asked questions
How much audio does 64GB actually hold?
At the FD50's default recording quality, 64GB stores 2,304 hours of audio. For context, recording for 8 hours per day produces just under 12 days of recordings. The 64GB capacity covers over 288 full eight-hour days before files need to be cleared.
Can I store regular files on the FD50 alongside recordings?
Yes. The FD50 appears as a standard removable USB drive on Mac and Windows. You can store documents, PDFs, and other files in the same storage space as your audio recordings.
What is the difference between the five sensitivity levels?
Sensitivity level determines how loud a sound needs to be before voice activation triggers recording. Lower levels record nearly any sound including soft conversation. Higher levels require louder sound to trigger, useful in environments with ongoing background noise where only direct conversation should be captured.
What audio format do the recordings save in?
Standard MP3, compatible with any media player on Mac or Windows. No proprietary software or conversion step is required.
