Call Recorder for Android: Hardware Device That Works on Every Android Phone
Why Android call recording apps fail
Google removed direct call recording API access from Android for most manufacturers starting with Android 10. Samsung, Google Pixel, OnePlus, Motorola, and other brands block third-party apps from accessing the call audio stream at the OS level. Apps that appear to record calls often only capture one side (your voice through the microphone) or rely on workarounds that break after OS updates. An app that worked on Android 11 may stop working after upgrading to Android 13 or 14 on the same device.
A hardware Bluetooth recorder does not use the Android API at all. It connects to your phone's Bluetooth call audio, records both voices independently, and saves to its own storage. Android OS updates have no effect on the hardware recording process.
How the PR200 records Android calls
The PR200 pairs with your Android phone as a Bluetooth audio device. During a call, it captures your voice through its built-in microphone and the caller's voice through the Bluetooth call audio connection, combining both into one MP3 file. The 8GB of storage holds 288 hours of calls, and the battery runs 9 hours in call recording mode. The PR200 works identically across Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, OnePlus, Motorola, and any other Android phone that supports Bluetooth audio, regardless of manufacturer or Android version.
To retrieve recordings, plug the PR200 into any Mac or Windows computer. Files appear immediately as a removable drive. No software, no account, no sync. The device also doubles as a USB flash drive for document storage.

Frequently asked questions
Will this keep working after an Android update?
Yes. The PR200 is hardware, not a software app. Android OS updates do not affect how the device pairs via Bluetooth or how it captures call audio. It works the same on Android 10, 11, 12, 13, and beyond.
Does it record the other person's voice, or just mine?
Both. The PR200 captures the caller's voice through Bluetooth and your voice through the built-in microphone, combining them into a single recording file.
Does it work on both Samsung and non-Samsung Android phones?
Yes. The PR200 uses standard Bluetooth and works with any Android phone that supports Bluetooth audio, regardless of manufacturer.
Can I record in-person conversations with the PR200 when I'm not on a call?
Yes. Switch to voice recorder mode for up to 20 hours of standalone recording for meetings, interviews, or personal memos. Both modes work from the same device on the same battery cycle.
