Call Recorder for iPhone: Hardware Bluetooth Device That Captures Both Sides
Why iPhone call recording apps don't work
Apple has blocked third-party access to the phone call audio stream since iOS 10. This is an intentional iOS restriction, not a carrier limitation. Apps that appear to offer iPhone call recording work around this by routing the call through a conference bridge, which requires the other party to join a third phone number, reduces audio quality, and fails frequently with VoIP callers. The result is an unreliable system that changes the nature of the call itself.
A hardware Bluetooth recorder sidesteps this entirely. It pairs with your iPhone as a Bluetooth audio device, captures both sides of the call through its own hardware, and saves the recording to its own internal storage. No iOS permission required, no conference routing, no app to configure.
How the PR200 records iPhone calls
The PR200 pairs with your iPhone via Bluetooth using the same connection your iPhone uses with wireless headphones. When you make or receive a call with the PR200 connected, it captures your voice through its built-in microphone and the caller's voice through the Bluetooth audio connection. Both are combined into a single MP3 file saved to the PR200's 8GB storage, which holds 288 hours of recordings.
The call recording battery runs 9 hours per charge, covering a full day of business calls. In between calls, switch the PR200 to voice recorder mode for up to 20 hours of recording for meetings, memos, or interviews on the same charge cycle. The built-in speaker lets you verify a recording immediately after a call. Plug the PR200 into any Mac or Windows computer to retrieve files as a removable drive, no software required.

Frequently asked questions
Will this work with every iPhone model?
Yes. The PR200 uses standard Bluetooth and pairs with any Bluetooth-enabled iPhone, regardless of iOS version, model, or carrier.
Does it capture what the other person says, not just my voice?
Yes. The PR200 captures the caller's voice through the Bluetooth connection and your voice through its built-in microphone. Both are combined into one MP3 file.
What happens if Bluetooth disconnects mid-call?
Your side of the conversation continues to be captured by the PR200's microphone. The caller's audio may be reduced for that portion of the call if the Bluetooth connection drops. The recording file continues to save regardless.
Can I use the PR200 for in-person meetings, not just phone calls?
Yes. The PR200 has a dedicated voice recorder mode that operates independently of Bluetooth and records up to 20 hours per charge. It is a two-function device: Bluetooth call recorder and standalone voice recorder.
